Chinatown Philadelphia is slowly vanishing. It started in the 1980s when construction of the cross-town highway I-676 called for the demolition of Vine Street as we knew it. This new wave of vanishing occurring is caused by an exodus of Chinatowns next generations. They are leaving the nest and taking with it the art, design, cuisine, ethnicity and culture that make Philadelphia’s Chinatown what it is.

The following photos were taken during the Fall and early Winter of 2013 with the Leica X2 which was graciously provided by Leica.
